The 1 euro houses project continues in 2020. The official website casea1euro.it presents a 2020 updated list of the locations, protagonists of this initiative. The properties for sale are owned by private citizens, who wish to get rid of them because they are unsafe or dilapidated.
The person who buys the house for the symbolic amount of 1 euro has to undertake a renovation plan of the property within 365 days from the act of purchase. The aim of the municipal administrations is to combat the depopulation of ancient villages, otherwise destined to oblivion from geographical maps and tourist visits.
