1 Euro Houses is a phenomenon that started in Italy in 2019. Today, the concept is emulated all over Europe as a success story. The reason for its success is its central goal: To repopulate the abandoned countryside by selling houses at symbolic prices.

The abandonment of the countryside happened gradually. The inhabitants simply moved to bigger cities and better work opportunities and with them economic growth.
